In SAND: Raiders of Sophie, you will require a lot of Scrap Ammo early on. It is used in a lot of Tech Tree upgrades, so you'll want to get as much as you can on each run. Fortunately, it is one of the more accessible materials to locate, once you know where to look for crates.

Where to Look

Scrap Ammo can be found at most locations on the map, such as wrecked ships and abandoned camps. Larger landmarks, such as towns and other named areas, will provide more for each trip, so try to stock up first at these locations if you want to get a lot of value for your money.

Which Crates to Open

Look for Weapon Crates. On the lid they have two crossed guns painted. In the interior, you will find primarily weapons, ammunition, and other combat gear, with Scrap Ammo being one of the most prevalent items that can drop from them. Scrap Ammo is also found in Even rarer Weapon Crates, so it's always worth opening.

Why It's Worth Farming

The more Scrap Ammo you return, the quicker you unlock new technologies on the Tech Tree. Always check all Weapon Craters as you travel from one point of interest to another.

Staying Safe

Other players and enemies are looking for these areas as well, so be careful when looting. You can lose everything you've acquired, including your Trampler, if you're caught off guard, so watch your surroundings as you travel.
