A big perk about Jedi Survivor is how they've expanded the progression system to include perks. There are 10 perk slots and several perks to get during your journey. In this guide, we're going to cover how to unlock all the perk slots and the best perks in the game.
How to Unlock All Perk Slots on Koboh
Let's start with how to unlock the perk slots. You start with three, and the first additional one is super easy to get from Z’s shop at the cost of 10 data discs. As soon as you unlock the shop, you can grab it.
After that, there are three more on Koboh. The first is in Rambler's Reach at the edge of town. There's a big gray building that you can access by jumping onto a Neko and then super jumping onto the roof. This path is fairly linear—just follow it, and it'll lead you to the perk slot at the end.
The next one is near the giant creature at the Derelict Dam. Facing the creature, head in the opposite direction and climb up the yellow structure. You'll need the Force Lift ability to do this. There’s a puzzle here where you must grab the little ball that creates matter, allowing you to destroy blue Koboh matter using BD’s visor ability. You’ll need to do this a couple of times, but essentially, once you climb up and parkour your way to the top, you’ll find the perk slot there.
The last perk slot on Koboh is a little harder to find and is located at Harvest Ridge. There’s a red barn that is difficult to access. To get there, go through a gate leading to The Moldy Depths and follow the linear path. You'll need to get a mount through a hole so you can super jump to the top area.
Once inside the barn, you’ll need to complete a similar puzzle, getting a Neko onto the very top so you can use it to jump even higher. Once you reach the top section, the perk slot is there. The barn puzzle can be tricky—you need to get both Nekos inside and place one on the platform. If you’re struggling, it took me a second to figure out, too.
How To Unlock All Perk Slots on Jedha
By now, you have seven perk slots. There are three more, all found in Jedha, through the Path of the X puzzles. These are: Path of Persistence, Path of Conviction, and Path of Restoration. You can find them scattered around the map. Each puzzle requires you to get a ball to the very top and push it through the center. Completing each one grants you a perk slot. Once all three are completed, you can visit the Wayfinder’s Tomb. But just doing these puzzles alone will get you the final three perk slots.
Best Early Game Perk
Now that you have all the slots, let’s talk about perks. If you're in the early game, the best perk to grab is Wisdom from Z’s shop. This increases the experience gained from defeating enemies. It takes up the three initial perk slots, but it's worth running early on. Z also sells other interesting perks as you gain more slots.
Ambidexterity
This perk increases lightsaber damage temporarily after shooting a target. It’s great for the Blaster stance. To get it, you need access to the Devastated Settlement area as part of the main story. Specifically, it’s found in the Grand Courtyard meditation point. Below, there’s a Force Tear, and beneath that, an area that can be unlocked by using BD’s visor ability to destroy the blue matter. You'll need to move a laser to hit the wall to gain access.
Marksmanship
While you’re in the Grand Courtyard, if you climb all the way to the top, you can also grab the Marksmanship perk. This increases the damage dealt with your blaster while in the Blaster stance. Both Ambidexterity and Marksmanship work well together, especially for Blaster stance players. There are many perks benefiting Blaster stance, but not as many for other stances, which is a bit strange.
Fortitude
This perk increases lightsaber damage but also increases incoming damage. It’s a risk-reward perk, ideal for players confident in blocking and parrying. To get it, defeat the Vile Bilemaw at the Fogged Expanse. The boss fight takes place in a drop-down arena, and the perk is found right next to where the boss is defeated. This perk is especially valuable on lower difficulties where the increased damage received is less punishing.
Centered
This perk causes nearby enemies to stagger when using a stim. Additionally, Cal won’t be interrupted when taking a hit while using a stim. This is incredibly valuable because getting interrupted mid-heal can be frustrating. Centered is obtained after a story event on the Shattered Moon. After fighting a specific boss there, you can grab this perk from the boss arena.
Gambler
This perk increases XP gain but removes the ability to recover lost XP after death. Normally, when you die, you can regain lost XP by hitting the enemy that killed you or picking it up from the ground. With Gambler active, you can't do that. However, the increased XP gain makes it worthwhile. To get Gambler, defeat the Sutaban Alpha on Jedha, located past the Crypt of Uhrma. There’s a puzzle here that you may have walked past before. Once solved, follow the pathway to the boss, defeat it, and claim the perk.
