At the café, you work closely with Maryam, whose business course pushes you to refine your shopkeeping skills. Mastering this location is crucial if you want to demonstrate your expertise as a bookseller and gain recognition within the community.

Meet Tilde at the Café

On the second day of your journey, Tilde insists you accompany her to the Café. Accepting her invitation unlocks the location and your first interaction here.

When you arrive, you are welcomed into an elegant space that will soon become one of the central hubs of your bookshop's growth.

Know Thy Customer

Once you have visited a few times, Maryam introduces her Pillars of Business course. The first lesson challenges you to give three successful recommendations to café patrons.

These recommendations only need to be successful, not perfect, making the task more forgiving than other challenges, such as those tied to Professor Wen at the University. 

To maximize your chances, equip items that increase the number of recommendations requested each day. Over time, your growing mastery impresses both Maryam and your customers.

Beacon of Taste

After proving your recommendation skills, Maryam shifts her focus to shop aesthetics. To appeal to the café's refined clientele, you must equip your bookshop with three classy decorations. If you already have them equipped, the challenge completes instantly.

This task highlights the importance of tailoring your shop's style to your audience, teaching you how powerful visual presentation can be in influencing sales.

Harde Times

Maryam then tests your ability to maintain business even under less-than-ideal conditions. For this challenge, you must sell ten books in a single day while Maryam's bins are cluttering the area. 

Her point is to show that determination and strategy can overcome setbacks. Stocking a wide selection of books and making informed recommendations will help ensure success. Do not forget to pick up the Spoiled Fish from her bins—it may come in handy later.

Sustainable Sale

Proving consistency is just as crucial as flair. This challenge requires you to maintain a three-day sales streak at the café, selling at least five books per day.

It forces you to commit to the location for multiple days, ensuring you plan your stock carefully, especially with popular genres such as Classic and Drama. With diligence, you will find your sales climbing steadily.

Rich in Variety

Variety is the spice of bookselling, and this challenge puts that to the test. You must sell one book from six different genres in a single day.

While Classic and Drama will sell easily at the café, you should stock additional genres on your shelves to meet the quota.

Remember, recommendations sometimes open unexpected opportunities to match customers with genres they might not usually request, giving you more flexibility to succeed.

Be Observant

The final major challenge at Café Liberté comes in the form of a trivia quiz from Maryam. To pass, you must answer at least three out of four questions correctly.

The questions pertain to aspects such as the café's history or valuable information about the area, like the best and worst days to sell books in specific locations.

Being careful not only shows that you can observe things well, but it also helps you build a good relationship with Maryam.
