Team Ninja Working On Final Fantasy Action Game

Square Enix and Koei Tecmo have announced that they are teaming up along with developer Team Ninja to create a brand new action based Final Fantasy title. Dubbed Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, players take control of the warrior Jack, assisted by his allies Ash and Jed. The three are on a quest to defeat Chaos, who appears to have taken the form or possessed the knight Garland. Jake is shown is several different outfits and wielding weapons like a great sword, spear, and sword and shield. It is unclear if these are story based or if players will have full control of their equipment and loadout.

 

With the focus on Garland and Chaos, it seems that Stranger of Paradise is either highly influenced or a will be a complete retelling of the first Final Fantasy. Garland was the first boss the Warriors of Light fought. But using the power of time travel and evil magic, Garland changed his fate to become the final encounter, the demon Chaos.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is planned for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. However, only PlayStation 5 users can take part in the demo and give feedback until June 24.
