Producer Eiji Aonuma announced while providing a small piece of new footage from the game. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was delayed until it was released in 2017, becoming a landmark in open-world design. The game had such an impact its presentation can be seen in many other titles, such as Horizon: Forbidden West and Halo: Infinite. Many of the features praised in FromSoftware's Elden Ring debut in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The fanbase has been understanding since Nintendo was open and honest. A similar reception followed after Nintendo revealed that Metroid Prime 4 would suffer a massive delay, but Nintendo has yet to provide any more information on Samus' adventure.
