Commander Shepard will play a Role in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Mass Effect: Andromeda is now available through EA Access and the customize character option has a very interesting detail, deciding whether Commander Shepard is male or female.

This is shocking seeing that BioWare confirmed that not only will Andromeda take place in a new galaxy but feature no familiar faces from the original games. However, seeing that Andromeda takes place between Mass Effect 2 and 3 it's likely that the characters will make references to other games. How this will play out is still a mystery.

Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 21 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
