Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.
This guide covers the Defense of Xiapi. Each stage presents its own challenges. I'll break down this stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.
Defense of Xiapi
The challenge in the Defense of Xiapi is to prevent any enemy officers from entering the interior of the castle. The interior is marked by a small square at the back of the castle.
As long as no enemies reach this area, the challenge is complete. This battle is relatively simple, but it requires careful positioning and quick action to ensure no enemies slip through.
At the start of the battle, clear the first two officers blocking the path. After that, it's a good idea to assist allies on the sides of the castle, such as Fu Shi Ren and Zhan Yong. While helping them isn't mandatory, having extra allies on the defensive side can make the battle easier.
Fu Shi Ren might struggle and fall, but Zhan Yong can hold his own and return to the front of the castle to defend against any enemies who slip past.
The key to this battle is positioning. Standing at the bridge in front of the castle allows for easy interception of incoming officers. Guan Yu will handle most threats on his own, so focus on holding the front line.
If allies like Sunan are struggling, it's okay to let them fall—saving them isn't necessary and can waste time. Restocking on health items (meat buns) is important, but avoid retreating too far. Allies at the front will hold the line while recovering.
This battle is simple—stand at the bridge, defeat incoming officers, and protect the castle's interior. With careful positioning and quick action, the challenge can be completed without much difficulty.
