BioWare Promises the Best is Yet to Come for Anthem

Better things are coming to Anthem

Anthem has not been doing so well. Following the game's release the title was bombarded with mediocre reviews and numerous complaints of technical issues. However, BioWare's general manager Casey Hudson recently published an open blog post that the company is dedicated to improving Anthem.

In the post, Hudson explains that the team is working hard on more than 200 improvements to stabilize the game, improve loot, and progression. They hope they can encourage fans to stick around.

We also continue to listen to your feedback, with more improvements to endgame loot and progression, game flow, and stability and performance coming soon – so there’s a lot more work that we intend to do. This is all a learning experience for us, and as we work to make sure the game is improved and perfected, we can’t emphasize enough how much we appreciate you staying with us. Especially because the next stage is where things really get exciting.

The issue is that many fans of the game have shown incredible levels of frustration with the game. The most heated backlash came after the bug where players were receiving large amounts of loot before BioWare changed it. This caused the most dedicated fans to boycott the game following a popular post on Reddit. In addition, with the release of Ubisoft's The Division 2 which has been receiving more popular reception and follows the same looting and live-service model many gamers have already jumped shipped.

BioWare could turn things around but the initial reception of Anthem has pushed the game way downhill and will require a lot of energy before it can recover.

Anthem is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Check out our review here.
