Publisher Team17 and developer The Game Kitcher have announced the release date of upcoming action-platformer Blasphemous. The title is set to launch on September 10 and is coming to PC, Xbox One, PS4, as well as Nintendo Switch.
Blasphemous puts players in the shoes of protagonist The Penitent One who, wielding "a sword born from guilt itself", must free the world of Cvstodia from the twisted religion that has taken hold of it, while discovering the source of their own grief.
Blasphemous mixes brutal combat with a hefty amount of customization. The Penitent One can employ devastating combos and special moves to vanquish their opponents, while relics, rosary beads and prayers grant them access to new powers.
Blasphemous will take players through a number of different biomes across its gorgeous non-linear world. Check it out on Steam and watch it in action in its most recent trailer.
