Epic Games is offering refunds to those unable to play.

Epic Games has announced that Apple has rescinded their ability to submit and distribute new patches for both Fortnite Battle Royale and the Save the World campaign. This will lock the Mac version at update patch v13.40. Battle Royale will be accessible for now, however Save the World will become unplayable due to compatibility bugs from a lack of receiving patch v14.20.
Anyone who purchased Save the World on Mac from September 17, 2019 to September 19, 2020 is entitled to a refund for both the game itself and V-Bucks spent on Llamas. The refunds are automatic and will be deposited to user bank accounts on or before October 2, 2020. Purchasing a new Starter Pack on Mac has also been discontinued. Epic further noted that character progression would be retained cross platform, and that players could continue where they left off by repurchasing the game on PC, PlayStaion, or Xbox consoles.
