Blizzard May of Teased Brand New Overwatch Hero Image
Is this the new hero coming to Overwatch?
News by Grayshadow on Feb 22, 2017
Yesterday Game Director of Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, went on Battle.net to denounce rumors that anyone knew who the upcoming Overwatch hero was. Until then a lot of the community thought Doomfist, a heavily inferred hero, would join the roster but Blizzard may have teased the image of the next hero today.
The new character called Efi Oladele, an 11-year old inventor and scientist who has experience with AI and robotics who has become the recipient of the Adawe Foundation's prestigious "genius grant" in recognition of her many accomplishments.
Now it's too early to determine that this is the next hero, especially considering that this goes against how Blizzard revealed Ana and Sombra. It's possible that she could be the person who created the next hero, maybe an Omnic, or perhaps she'll dawn a robotic suit like D.Va.
Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Opinion: It's possible that Efi Oladele could be the vanguard genius the lead to the creation of the Omnic Crisis. Perhaps this is a long shot but the interview isn't dated, which means this could be a past interview. After listening to so much dialogue between robots and humans this interview seems to be lacking a critical point, what about all the rogue robots that killed a lot of people? It would seem that the interviewer would've touched on that seeing that the grant was based on AI and robotics.
Maybe this new hero is Efi Oladele, but an older version like Ana.
