Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been far from a perfect release for Sledgehammer Games, despite this, the game has still continued to get frequent updates and the developers have confirmed that the controversial “Groot” skin will sadly, be temporarily disabled in the upcoming update coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III as the studio is hard at work, implementing numerous changes that will hopefully give players a much better experience. This update has made many players relieved that Sledgehammer Games has started making many much needed changes to the game.
Despite it's less than desirable release, there were many things that fans loved about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. One of these being the game's multiplayer game modes, which were positively received by fans, but many also feel that there is plenty of room for improvement. One of these areas seems to be the skill-based matchmaking which continues to be a point of contention among players. Another issue seems to be that of the Gaia and Nova operator skins, the main reason for this is due to the fact that the root-like appearance of the Gaia skin is hard to spot on certain maps, which many feel gives players who use it an unfair advantage.
User CharlieIntel recently shared an excerpt from Sledgehammer Games’ AMA on Reddit, which did confirm that the developers will be making the necessary changes to the Groot-like Gaia skin, as well as Gaia Blackwell operator skins. Sadly, this does mean that both of these skins will be disabled during the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III update. These skins will not be disabled for very long and they will once again become available when the developers finalize the adjustments to the Groot skin. Sadly, we weren't given any specific information on what changes were being made or when the skin will become available again.
Despite it only being temporarily disabled, many Twitter users continue to call for the skins’ outright removal from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, even though the skin itself is a major reward from the game's battle pass for Season 6. This new update will also give Sledgehammer Games time to fix and remedy the issues that came from The Haunting event from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Hopefully, we will see the return of the Groot skin, now new and improved and hopefully, ‘grootier’ than ever.
