Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.
This guide covers the Battle of Niu & Shenting. Each stage presents its own challenges. I'll break down each stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.
Battle of Niu
The challenge in this battle requires claiming victory without utilizing the stone boulder attack, which is triggered by capturing bases on the northern and southern sides of the map. The best approach is to advance straight through the middle of the battlefield without engaging in base captures. Maintaining this strategy prevents the catapults from being activated, ensuring that the objective is met without issue.
A standard setup works well for this challenge, with a health gem, attack and defense boosts, two bravery items, and attack strength potions. Meat buns can be collected from the bases behind the main path or the side bases if needed. Pushing forward through the middle while staying alert to Sun Jian’s health is key, as he may be engaged in combat outside. If his health drops, providing assistance before returning to the main battle is necessary.
Since there is no time limit, advancing steadily while allowing allied forces to take their time in capturing bases ensures success. Attacking the bases too quickly may result in allies seizing locations that activate catapults, leading to a failed challenge. Focusing solely on progressing forward and defeating the necessary enemies provides a straightforward path to victory.
Battle of Shenting
This battle involves defeating Taishi Ci within five minutes, making it one of the tougher encounters. Taishi Ci is a formidable opponent, requiring an efficient strategy and strong offensive tactics. Using the same setup as before, charging directly toward his position is the best approach, as waiting for him to advance wastes valuable time.
Engaging the frontline enemies before approaching Taishi Ci is not advised due to the time restriction. Bringing a bravery boost or attack-enhancing items is beneficial, as Taishi Ci is highly resilient, even against a significant level advantage. His powerful attacks can drain health quickly, making survival a priority.
If necessary, meat buns can be collected from the base during battle. Keeping an eye on his movement and executing consistent attacks helps maintain an offensive edge. Defensive strategies such as dodging and counterattacks are crucial. Utilizing a familiar weapon can make the fight smoother, as this opponent demands precise execution.
The key to completing this challenge is persistence and aggression. Taking him down before the time expires secures victory, and ensuring constant pressure prevents the battle from dragging out. Timing and efficiency are vital for overcoming this encounter.
