Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.

This guide covers the Battle of Xinye & Bowang Po. Each stage presents its own challenges. I'll break down each stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.

Battle of Xinye (Eight Gates Formation)

The Battle of Xinye requires swift execution to achieve victory within 10 minutes. The main goal is to break the formation and defeat Xiahou Yuan before time runs out. Selecting a strong companion such as Zhao Yun can be helpful, but the choice is flexible.

At the start, clearing the first base is optional, but heading straight for the formation saves time. Entering the formation requires locating an entrance without a signal fire. The first gate on the right is the best entry point. Upon entry, heading left leads to Han Hao, who must be swiftly eliminated. Once the area stabilizes, taking down the next enemy general allows for progression. The best exit is at the top right of the formation.

Moving to the second gate, which is at the top right of the map, requires waiting for the signal fire to disappear. Once inside, Guo Huai appears as the next opponent. Defeating him and another enemy officer clears the section, allowing an exit from the same gate. The last gate is positioned at the bottom left. Waiting for it to open instead of circling the map can save valuable time.

Ling Tong serves as the next major opponent, with increased morale making him a formidable challenge. Using the Encourage tactic, Bravery boost, or a strong battle art helps in this fight. Once he is defeated, Jiang Xu appears next. Afterward, Xiahou Yuan must be dealt with. He is heavily guarded by tough enemies like Xu Huang, Zhang He, and Yu Jin. Dodging attacks and using tactics effectively is essential.

Zhao Yun’s True Musou and Dragon Battle Art prove effective in this fight. Keeping up the offensive and eliminating threats efficiently secures victory before time expires. Avoiding unnecessary delays and waiting near the left entrance of the final gate ensures a smoother path through the battle.

Battle of Bowang Po

This battle requires eliminating Ling Tong and Yu Jin before they reach their bases. Speed is crucial, as hesitation allows them to separate, making pursuit difficult. Despite their strength, they are weaker than surrounding officers, making them prime targets for an immediate offensive.

A strong weapon choice enhances efficiency in this fight. Engaging Ling Tong and Yu Jin at the earliest opportunity ensures success. Waiting too long allows them to split, complicating the fight. Once they are defeated, returning to the central area to support allies is advisable. Reinforcements continue to arrive, increasing battlefield intensity.

As Zhao Yun signals retreat, following this command allows for the fire arrows to trigger. Many officers will gather in the center, making the fire attack a vital strategic element. Once the arrows hit, enemy forces weaken significantly, simplifying the remaining engagements.

With the fire attack in play, enemy officers like Zhang Liao become more vulnerable. Defeating them systematically ensures steady progress. The battle concludes with Xiahou Dun, who is manageable with proper timing. Utilizing True Musou attacks and effective positioning leads to a successful outcome.

These two battles require a mix of speed, strategic positioning, and efficient combat. Avoiding unnecessary engagements, targeting key enemies, and managing time effectively lead to success.
