Diablo IV has had its fair share of problems and Blizzard has been relatively quick to patch things out but it's usually for minor things. Well, it looks like major changes are coming to Diablo IV as Blizzard has recently unveiled all the changes and updates that will be coming in the Season 2 update, Season of Blood. Diablo IV is definitely a new direction for the franchise, as its latest incarnation pivots more towards a live-service gaming model as seen with other games such as Destiny 2.

As mentioned before, there have been a ton of changes made to Diablo IV since release, the most major of these changes came in the Season of The Malignant update. However, these changes weren’t exactly well received, to the point Blizzard had to host a spontaneous Campfire Chat specifically to address the issues with updates. And now, with the game's second season just around the corner, Blizzard recently hosted a livestream that went into detail about all the changes and improvements that will be added to the game when Season of Blood goes live on 17 October 2023.

The upcoming 1.2.0 update will be making plenty of necessary changes to the game, these changes will mainly be focusing on Mounts and Nightmare Dungeons, which will no longer require players to defeat the dungeon boss and instead, all players need to do is finish the map in order to gain Nightmare Sigils. Along with the changes to Nightmare Sigils and bosses, all player objectives will feature on the critical dungeon path which the developers are hoping to streamline, so players will hopefully no longer need to backtrack as often.

These changes will most likely go down as a treat with players who have been complaining about the backtracking issues with most of the game's dungeons. While new changes are being added, it should be noted that Blizzard will also be backtracking on some of their past changes made in Season of the Malignant, such as the infamous limited inventory space. Stashes will be available in most of the game's small towns along with waypoints. A second Diablo Live Stream will be held on 10 October 2023, where hopefully, we will get to learn about even more juicy details coming in Season of Blood.
