GTA 6 Trailer 3 Teased for Summer as Rockstar Fans Brace for a Longer Wait

Strauss Zelnick reaffirms GTA 6’s november launch while Rockstar fans brace for more waiting.

The past few weeks have been a blur of speculation, ideas, and constant Grand Theft Auto VI rumors. But news from Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, indicates that fans will have to wait a bit longer before Rockstar shares more information about GTA 6 trailer 3. Zelnick affirmed on Take-Two's most recent earnings call that the game would be launched on November 19, ending any further concerns about another delay.

In the last couple of months, the executive has emerged as the major official voice of GTA 6 comments. But more and more fans are asking for real updates from Rockstar Games, not just business interviews and investment presentations. Still, Zelnick's latest statements may have discreetly dropped one of the biggest facts about GTA 6 so far: when the next big revelation will drop.

Take-Two’s Ceo Strauss Zelnick claimed last year that the marketing for GTA 6 wouldn’t truly begin until the summer.

As a teaser video may not always be full-scale marketing, many players believed this meant Rockstar could still release trailer 3 before that time period finished. This week, Zelnick discussed the earlier previews for Rockstar. The first was released in December 2023, the second in May 2025. The corporation “will share more details this summer,” he added.

The phrasing was so transparent that many fans now feel Rockstar will not reveal anything meaningful until late June or sometime in the summer marketing period. The announcement is a welcome relief for a group that has spent months poring over screenshots, hidden hints, and online theories. Many fans aren't looking forward to surprise news in the next couple of weeks.

Instead, they’re reducing expectations and preparing for a longer wait before Rockstar makes its next major statement. With the revised plan, many in the GTA community aren’t expecting immediate news. With the long wait since the last big update from Rockstar, some fans were convinced that Trailer 3 would arrive befere summer officially kicked off.

Instead, they now expect the reveal to happen in late June or mid-summer. If accurate, that means players might not see a large GTA 6 teaser until almost a year out before Rockstar begins its serious marketing push again. For now, it seems many fans are ready to stop guessing. With a new Grand Theft Auto Online update on the horizon, some gamers are starting to return to GTA Online while they wait to hear about GTA 6.

Another significant piece of information was revealed in Zelnick’s interview, where he answered queries regarding selling physical games.

Recently, there were reports online that GTA 6 will be largely distributed digitally. This scared people that collectors' editions or packaged copies would disappear altogether. While digital revenues are likely to remain the bulk of the company’s income, Take-Two’s CEO indicated that GTA 6 will still have a “big physical component.”

That comment makes it all but certain that retail copies, physical editions, and collector’s editions are still very much in Rockstar’s plans. In other news from Take-Two this week, they’ve handed out yet another “cease and desist” letter to the GTA modding community (besides GTA 6). This time, RageMP was the victim.

RageMP has long been a competitor to FiveM in the GTA multiplayer and roleplay communities. Online reports indicate that the developers of RageMP announced the site will officially shut down on August 31, 2026. Community servers are expected to shut down or migrate to another site before that date. At least Rockstar veterans won’t be completely shocked by the shift. Rockstar and Take-Two acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, in 2023.

This made one of the major GTA modification sites official. Many now argue that Take-Two will try to make FiveM the dominant (and maybe the only) major modding ecosystem going forward. This is because GTA 6 will be an even bigger online and role-playing environment when it releases. But for players and communities who grew up around RageMP, the shutdown still feels like a negative.

The platform has been used for years by thousands of roleplay servers and groups, and many of them are now preparing to migrate to FiveM to keep their doors open. Rockstar Games has also been cracking down hard on GTA Online malfunctions and users exploiting money glitches over the last week. Rockstar just hit the GTA Online economy with some serious adjustments.

Some cars went down in price, for example, whereas the Raiju Jet went up. Most notably, Rockstar modified how in-game car sales work. Car sales can only bring in $500,000. After that, any sales of that vehicle will depreciate significantly. It looks like the mechanism was built to guard against duplication exploits and other money-glitch tactics that let players generate a ton of money in the game.

After these adjustments, several users began reporting that they were losing a lot of money and that their accounts were being canceled. Screenshots shared on social media and the GTA Online forum show that some players have lost tens of millions of dollars from their accounts after Rockstar reversed legitimate gains.

One case that made a lot of headlines involved someone who lost nearly $87 million and had their assets taken away in the game.

There is a sense among many players that the crackdown will not make much difference to the group as a whole. There are still plenty of legitimate methods to make quick cash in GTA Online, with events like the Cayo Perico Heist and The Contract update still paying off generously for busy players.

The adjustments this week have been bad for the GTA community. For another, Take-Two continues to tell fans that GTA 6 will still be out in November. On the other hand, Rockstar’s silence has been lasting longer than most expected.

The whole affair feels even weirder for longtime followers because of the calendar itself. GTA 6 was set to be released on May 26 before being delayed. That date is long passed, and there hasn't even been a third video.

That fact has been hard for so many players to overlook. People have been waiting for Rockstar’s next genuine revelation for years now, with rumors, speculations, countdowns, and ideas circulating for a long time. Now, all signs point to summer as the time when Rockstar finally speaks. Until then, GTA fans may just need to wait a bit longer.
