Halo Fan Discovers Secret Message from Cortana in Halo Infinite E3 2019's Trailer

At the end of Halo 5: Guardians, it's revealed that Cortana is the new antagonist of the series. Deciding to take on the role of dictator for the galaxy by using Forerunner Guardians as Enforcers. In the latest trailer for Halo: Infinite no gameplay was shown but it looks like Cortana left another message.

The message was discovered by Xepyal. Finding a QR code the leads to a message from the rogue AI saying “This…this is part of me. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, but it is me.”

According to 343 Industries, Xepyal was the first to discover the secret. As for what it means, they won't say.

My guess is that Cortana is referring to something within the Forerunner network. During the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5, a prophecy was hinted at involving Master Chief and Cortana. This could be something left over by the Forerunners that Cortana believes is part of her but doesn't understand how since she wasn't created when it was. At least, that's my guess.

Halo Infinite will be launching in late 2020 for Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Scarlett.
