Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is no longer a Gog.com exclusive. Despite having stated, back in October, that there was no intention to release the title it on Valve's platform, CD Projekt Red has, seemingly, changed its mind. After less than three weeks of exclusivity, the title has made its way to Steam, the stuido announced on Twitter. The thread also clarifies that purchasing Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales on Steam won't get you rewards for Gwent, as the two aren't connected. There are also no plans to bring Gwent to Steam.
If you do decide to get Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales on Steam, you'll receive a batch of digital goodies. Included are the game's soundtrack, concept art, including the map of Lyria, the "Fox Children" graphic novel, the GWENT: Art of The Witcher Card Game artbook and a copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is now also available on @steam_games! You can get it from the game’s official Steam product page: https://t.co/yDrVOvYPzB#WitcherTales pic.twitter.com/ryJv4HtZkC

For those unaware, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales follows Meve, queen of Lyria and Rivia as she struggles to fend of a Nilfgaardian invasion. It's not only a departure in term of protagonist, but also genre. While it does retain the trademark difficult choices, Thronebreaker mixes RPG elements with card battles inspired by the studio's free-to-play card game Gwent, but not without taking its liberties. It's quite a lengthy romp, too, giving players 30ish hours worth of travelling through lands from Andrzej Sapkowski's universe that haven't been featured in prior Witcher games.
I enjoyed my time taking down man and monster in tactical card battles while reviewing the game, although I did wish the difficulty had been dialed up a bit. Give our Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales review a read. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is out now on PC, through both Steam and Gog.com. It is set to release on PS4 and Xbox One in December 4th.
