Xbox Games Showcase - Halo Infinite Gameplay

Today, to show off their newest Halo title, Microsoft showed off a demo of Halo Infinite. Unlike what some expected, the footage included a hefty amount of gameplay from what appears to be the beginning of the game. The demo begins with a continuation from the previous Halo Infinite trailers, showing Master Chief crash landing on a Halo.

The actual mission Master Chief undertakes is simple: Destroy three anti-aircraft guns. The weapons have clearly taken out a couple of UNSC ships, and Chief needs to shut them down if he and his companion are going to escape the Halo they find themselves on.

Some interesting features were shown off. One was the brief showcase of the map, which looked quite expansive, and had tabs for menus such as “Upgrades.” Another included a sort of grappling hook, which was used to both grab items and close the gaps between enemies. 

As it stands, Master Chief is outnumbered, outgunned, and without any sort of back up. The UNSC has been largely defeated across the galaxy, and now Master Chief is largely alone against the Banished
