Animal Crossing: New Horizons Guide | Turkey Day Thanksgiving Event

Turkey Day with Franklin is an event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that commemorates the American Thanksgiving holiday. Players are invited to prepare recipes and earn exclusive rewards. This guide contains a comprehensive list of recipes, ingredients, and rewards.

The most recent update to this event was Version 2.0, released on November 3, 2021. The update included minor additions and adjustments, including new DIY Cooking recipes. This event was originally introduced in Version 1.6.

Turkey Day Thanksgiving Time and Date

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Turkey Day event with Franklin is conducted annually on the fourth Thursday in November, which is American Thanksgiving.

It is important to note that Turkey Day is held annually in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, commencing at 9 a.m. and concluding at midnight. For the event to be experienced, Resident Services with Isabelle must be accessible.

The Turkey Day Thanksgiving event will commence on your island at 9 a.m. on the day of the event. The following adjustments will be implemented:

• Franklin the Turkey will be visible on your island, near Resident Services, donning his chef's hat.
• A cooking station will be erected outside Resident Services, complete with pots, pans, and ingredients.
• Dining tables and other holiday trappings will be positioned in close proximity.
• Villagers will don hats, transport dishes, and beverages, and congregate in the plaza.
• The music for the Thanksgiving festival will commence.

Turkey Day Thanksgiving Activities What To Do

Once the Turkey Day Thanksgiving event commences in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you have the opportunity to assist Franklin in preparing dishes for the entire island.

• Speak with Franklin outside of Resident Services to obtain recipe constituent instructions for four distinct Thanksgiving dishes.
• Gather the necessary ingredients for the recipe by fishing, diving, and accumulating materials in the vicinity of your island.
• By trading fish with the inhabitants inside their homes, you can obtain the ingredients you are lacking.
• By trading fish with villagers within their residences, one can acquire insights regarding the secret ingredient involved in various dishes.
• Bring the ingredients for the requested recipe to Franklin at Resident Services to prepare the dish and receive Turkey Day DIY Crafting recipes, objects, and cooking recipes.

Receive additional incentives for accurately providing Franklin with the "secret" ingredients that will improve each dish.

Turkey Day Recipe List

To prepare Franklin for Turkey Day on Thanksgiving in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are four distinct preparations. Each recipe is comprised of standard ingredients for the initial dish, as well as an additional secret ingredient that can be employed to enhance the dish in the future.

Clam Chowder Recipe

• The following ingredients can be used to prepare the Clam Chowder recipe on Turkey Day:
• Three Manila Clams Scallop Scallop Secret: Manila Clam.
• Manila clams can be obtained by excavating squirting areas on the beaches of your island.
• Scallops are a secret ingredient that improves Clam Chowder after they are harvested by diving for marine creatures in the ocean.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

The following ingredients can be used to prepare the Pumpkin Pie recipe on Turkey Day:

• One orange pumpkin
• 1 Random: Green Pumpkin Green Pumpkin White Pumpkin White Pumpkin Yellow Pumpkin Yellow Pumpkin
• Secret: Two pumpkins that were not originally requested.

Cultivating pumpkins is possible by purchasing Pumpkin Starts from Leif year-round or at Nook's Cranny during October. 

Initially, Franklin will request an orange pumpkin and one other arbitrary color. 

The remaining two colors will be used as secret ingredients to improve the Pumpkin Pie.

Gratin Recipe

Depending on the island hemisphere, the following ingredients can be used to prepare the Gratin recipe on Turkey Day:

North Hemisphere 

1 Random: l Mussel Potato, Carrot

 1 Random: 

Flat Mushroom, Round Mushroom, and Skinny Mushroom.

Oyster

Secret: Dungeness crab Dungeness crab

Southern Hemisphere

1 Squid 1 Random: Sea Urchin 

Potato, Carrot

Secret: Dungeness crab 

In November, mushrooms can be observed flourishing in the vicinity of trees. Dive for marine creatures in the ocean to locate mussels, oysters, and sea urchins. Squids may be harvested from the ocean. Vegetables such as carrots and potatoes can be cultivated on your island through cultivation.
