How to Unlock All Swimsuits by Completing the Five Gestral Games in Clair: Obscure Expedition 33

Game Guide by Monarch on  May 01, 2025

You're about to unlock all the swimsuits in Clair: Obscure Expedition 33. To do this, you need to complete all five of the Gestral games. Doing so will also earn you a couple of upgrade materials and an achievement or trophy. Here's how to get started.

Parkour

All of the games are available in the open-world area of the map known as the Continent. Some of them require decent story progression to unlock movement abilities needed to navigate the map. The first game is located near the starting area, off to the left. You'll need to unlock the swim ability to access it.

Enter the Gestral Beach area and complete the parkour. You can use any character, but using Lune might make traversal more seamless due to her ability to float. Reach the end of the parkour section, which should take about a minute.

At the end, you'll face a skill-testing question. The correct answer is 17, but don't worry—whatever answer you choose will be accepted since the Gest doesn't actually know the correct answer. Completing this unlocks your first swimsuit.

Raft Volleyball

You'll need the swim ability again for this next one. Head to the area just after completing the Stonewave Cliffs on the east side of the map, along the beach. Once there, play the raft volleyball mini-game.

This one might be the most frustrating. Each difficulty gives different rewards: the lowest gives weapon upgrade materials, the middle gives a swimsuit for Lune, and the hardest difficulty gives a swimsuit for CL.

You must win the volleyball game by using RB to parry the little Gestrals back at the raft across the water. Time your parries carefully—if you parry too late, you'll lose rhythm and likely fail.

It's easy to lose track of your character's position, so try to stay in a neutral middle position on your raft and time your parries consistently. With practice—or if needed, after coming back later—you'll be able to complete this one. Be patient and persistent.

Ascension Tower

Next is the Ascension Tower, which becomes available after you get through Monoco Station. You'll need the ability to swim through the coral to access it. Here, your goal is to climb the tower all the way to the top in a style similar to the game "Only Up."

Although this looks like the most difficult challenge, it's not as frustrating as the volleyball one. This climb takes about seven minutes, and while small mistakes may cause you to fall partway down, there are large platforms to help you recover. Be careful not to sprint into the pit in the center at the top of the tower out of excitement.

Using Lune is helpful due to her floating sprint, which makes it easier to time jump. Move at a walking pace, make small jumps, and mantle automatically when you approach ledges. You'll need to use ledge grabbing, rock climbing, ropes, and grapple points.

Some jumps require sprinting. A clean run should take about five minutes, but mistakes can extend this significantly. Reaching the top rewards you with Monoco's swimsuit.

Race

For the race game, you'll again need the ability to swim through coral. This one is located on a beach near Visage Axon Island. It's surprisingly easy because of how late it is in the game.

Speak to the ride operator on the island, who mentions the gold medal time is 38 seconds. You should aim for a time slightly better than that, such as 36.5 seconds. As soon as the race starts, sprint straight to the finish line.

Watch out for a fake finish line and head for the real one at the top middle platform. Hold sprint the whole time. A gold medal rewards you with all available rewards for this mini-game, including weapon upgrade materials and a swimsuit for Verso.

Climbing Wall

The last game is located just south of the one near the Sunless Cliffs. It likely requires the Fly ability to reach, both due to its difficulty and the reward it offers.

Inside, there's a journal on the far-right side if you want to pick it up. Approach the wall and climb to the very top middle. Balls will fall during your climb, which can make it tricky.

Once near the top, wait for the balls to spawn and move only if they're in your current column to avoid getting hit. Reach the top and talk to the Gestral to receive your final swimsuit.

If you follow the guide, you'll also unlock the achievement or trophy. Well done.
