Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Guide | All 9 Lost Gestral Locations

You're going to track down all nine of the lost Gestrals in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Collecting them not only grants you a decent set of in-game rewards but also unlocks an achievement or trophy at the end.

All of these are located in the open world area of the map known as the Continent. You can gather them as you progress or mop them up near the end of the game.

Near Esquie's Nest

The first one is very hard to miss and almost impossible to skip. After you complete the Ancient Sanctuary in the red forest located roughly in the center of that first area, you'll need to head toward Esquie's Nest. You'll find the first lost Gestral basically right in front of it. Just talk about it once you find it.

Near Stone Wave Cliffs Entrance

The next one is naturally on your path and not far from the entrance to the Stone Wave Cliffs. As you approach the path in front of you, instead, go to the right side. Here, you'll encounter a Bersion. You'll need to defeat it.

If you're in the low-level 20s, this fight can be difficult, so you can always return later when you're stronger. After defeating it, you'll find the lost Gestral on the path to the right of where the battle occurred.

White Tree Island

After exiting the Stone Wave Cliffs, you should now be able to swim. Head to the east side of the exit and swim toward an island where you'll find an entrance called the White Tree.

Instead of entering it, head to the far end of the island, away from the entrance. There, you'll find a lost Gestral near some rocks. Interact with it to send it back to camp.

Between Forgotten Battlefield and Monoco's Station

You can find this one as you progress naturally in the story. After leaving the Forgotten Battlefield but before entering Monoco's Station, head off to the right-hand side as the scenery shifts from grassy to snowy.

You'll spot the lost Gestral not far from a couple of trees in the open. You can return here at any time before completing the game, especially once you've unlocked new traversal abilities.

Small Beach North of Coastal Cave

You'll need the ability to swim through coral for this one. Once you've unlocked that, travel to an island to the right of Monoco's Station. This island contains an entrance to the Coastal Cave. Rather than going into the main part of the island, swim to a small beach on the north side. Land there, get off Esquie and interact with the lost Gestral.

Northwest of Old Lumiere

After exiting Old Lumiere, which you'll do as part of the main story, you'll again need to swim through the coral. Head northwest from that location to a nearby island. There are a couple of enemies there, including two mimes. Defeat them, which can be a challenge—especially at lower levels.

In the high 20s, this fight took about 10 minutes and 75 parries. Once you break the mimes, you'll be able to damage and defeat them. When you're done, find the lost Gestral at the far end of the island.

Near Endless Night Sanctuary

For this one, you'll need the ability to fly, which you unlock late in the main story after defeating one of the main bosses. Fly to the far eastern edge of the map to find a red forest tucked between cliffs.

Near the entrance to the Endless Night Sanctuary, land and approach the lost Gestral nearby. Interact with it to send it back to camp.

Near The Crow / The Reacher

Head to the northwest corner of the map to reach an area called The Crow. It's right next to a tall tower known as The Reacher, which you'll visit during Myel's relationship quest.

You can either land before ascending the tower or after, but look for a patch of grass on the ground near the water to the right-hand side. A vendor is nearby, and so is the lost Gestral. Grab it before moving on.

Floating Island Near Endless Tower

For the final lost Gestral, fly to the large circular structure in the center of the map—this is the Endless Tower. Fly as high as you can while keeping the tower to your north.

Near the top, you'll find a small floating island to the south of the tower. Land there and collect your final Gestral.

Once you've collected all nine, go back to the camp and talk to the NPC collecting the lost Gestrals. Doing so will unlock your achievement or trophy and grant you a generous amount of rewards.
