Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Guide | Solo Verso Overload Build

You will use Verso as a one-person wrecking crew. If you do fall, you can bring in three allies (or Monica) to finish the fight, but ideally, you'll dispatch most enemies before that happens. Even if you can't match every item on this list, coming close will still let you deal massive damage. This guide will walk you through the steps.

Weapon and Team Synergy

Choose whichever weapon has the highest power rating; the burn variant also works if you prefer. The exact weapon doesn't matter nearly as much as your power number. If you run a team instead, equip the Chev to pair with Maelle.

Maelle's Guide lets her protect allies by taking damage in their place, and her passive grants 20% increased damage for each consecutive turn, and she avoids damage (stacking up to five times).

Luminer Selection

For this build, equip the following Luminer abilities to maximize burst and sustain:

You gain Rush when fighting alone and deal 50% more damage if your health is below 10%;

Overload raises you to rank A, refills all AP, then sets your health to 1 to immediately trigger Rush;

Augmented First Strike grants 50% increased damage on your first hit;

Confident Fighter gives 30% increased damage but prevents healing;

Dodger boosts your evasion;

Powerful grants two AP when applied while soloing;

Energizing Starts accelerates your early turns;

First Offensive deals 50% more damage on your opening attack;

Glass Cannon increases your damage by 25% but also raises damage taken by 25%;

Immaculate boosts your damage by 30% until you take a hit;

Painted Power enhances Powerful's effect;

Shield Affinity grants 30% increased damage while you have shields;

Shortcut Play lets you act immediately when your health falls below 30%;

Solo Fighter deals 50% more damage when fighting alone;

Status Growth increases your damage by 15% for each status effect on yourself, and Roulette can be added if you enjoy risk-reward damage spikes.

Picto Selection

Equip Second Chance for a one-time automatic revive, Survivor to improve your durability at low health, and Cheetah for increased mobility once you trigger Overload.

Combat Strategy

Start using Overload to drop yourself to 1 HP and refill AP, instantly activating Rush. Then unleash Berserk Slash for massive damage—over 8 million in a single hit is typical. Second Chance brings you back if you're downed, letting you repeat the sequence. Even if Verso falls, your whole team will drop in to finish the fight.
