Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Guide | How To Unlock the Kitchen Inside the Gestral Village Manor Door

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the manor in Gestral Village hides more than just the atmosphere. If you’re curious about the locked kitchen door and where it leads, this guide walks you through every step needed to unlock it, discover secret switches, and collect hidden rewards waiting just below the surface.

Finding the Kitchen Entrance

To unlock the back door of the kitchen in the manor, head to Gestral Village. You’ll find this area to the right, or on the east side, of the chief’s house. When you see a sign that says “Turn Back,” continue all the way forward, and you’ll come across the door. You can talk to the nearby NPC if you like.

Once you enter this kitchen, which is somehow linked to the manor, look diagonally across from where you came in. There will be another door, but it will be locked.

Hidden Switches

Begin by examining the table with candle holders on it. This is the first switch you need to interact with. After that, move to the opposite wall and find a bust—this is the second switch.

The third and final switch is down the wall from there and is represented by the middle cooking pan among three pans. Interact with all three of these switches.

Once all switches are activated, opening the main door from where you originally entered will now lead you to the manor instead of back into the village.

Floor Access and Secret Passage

You’re not done yet. Re-enter the kitchen and look just to the left of the main door. A secret entrance on the floor will now be open. Drop down through it, and you can explore the area below. There’s a broken wall you’ll need to pass through.

Rewards

After entering this new section, look to the right to find a set of stairs. In the corner near those stairs, you’ll discover a reward. Once you grab it, turn around and look at the opposite wall.

There’s another opening—shoot the boxes blocking it. Under the stairs here, you’ll find another reward, which includes a new hairstyle for one of your characters.

You can now ascend the stairs and open the nearby door, although the final door will remain locked. It most likely has to be opened from the other side at a later point in the game.

To finish, make your way up another set of stairs and open the door at the top. This brings you back to the kitchen. You can now head through the manor’s main door, which will return you to the village.
