Spike Strips are a defensive structure that helps protect your base from hostile creatures.

You will need Sap, Crude Rope, Thistle Needles, and Weed Stems to craft a Spike Strip.

Each material has specific collection methods and locations that you need to understand for efficient gathering in Grounded 2.

Collecting Crude Rope and Sap

Throughout the yard, sap naturally occurs on a variety of surfaces. It is affixed to Rocks, Trees, and other Natural Objects. Just go ahead and pick up these deposits in person.

Plant Fibers are needed as a base material for crude rope. Look for small plants to harvest on the ground.

When you have enough plant material, go to the resources section in your crafting menu. Here, you can turn the Plant Fibers you've gathered into Crude Rope.

Getting Weed Stems

Depending on your level of equipment, there are two primary sources of Weed Stems. Husky Weeds can be directly harvested by chopping them down if you have a level two Omniaxe.

If you don’t have level access to two tools, Dandelion provides an alternative source.

You can locate Dandelions near the Ranger Station and throughout various areas of the yard in Grounded 2.

When you chop down a Dandelion, it breaks apart into multiple stalks upon hitting the ground, providing you with several Weed Stems from a single plant.

Collect all available Weed Stems and transport them to your intended construction site.

Finding Thistle Needles

Thistle Needles grow on distinctive plants with Pink Flowers. Look upward to spot these Flowers against the sky, as they are easily identifiable by their bright coloration.

These plants have large leaves that you can climb onto in Grounded 2.

Once you reach the leaves, search for Thistle Needles embedded within the plant structure.

You can harvest multiple needles from each plant by moving across different leaf sections.

Continue collecting until you have obtained the required amount for your Spike Strip construction in Grounded 2.

Building the Spike Strip

Open your building menu to access the Spike Strip blueprint. You can place the structure before gathering all materials, though having everything ready streamlines the process.

Use the rotation controls to position the Spike Strip according to your defensive needs.

After placing the foundation structure, interact with it while holding your Weed Stems.

The construction interface will prompt you to add each required material: Weed Stems, Thistle Needles, Sap, and Crude Rope.

You only need one of each material per Spike Strip, making it a resource-efficient defensive option for your base in Grounded 2.
