When you reach the middle room of the Ark, Leon is close to death because the T-Virus is in his blood. Grace offers to type the code to let Elpis out so she can save Leon.

If you type the wrong code even once, Elpis and the whole place will blow up. Leon wants you to destroy it.

Usually, breaking a bioweapon is the right move, but Oswell Spencer did not build Elpis to hurt people. He made it to stop the T-Virus that ruined Raccoon City. Grace grew up knowing she was meant to use this gift to help the world in Resident Evil Requiem.

The room falls apart the moment you mess up the password. Zeno rushes at Grace, but Leon jumps in to stop him. Leon takes a heavy beating to keep her safe. Grace climbs onto a ledge and flees while Zeno hits Leon and then shoots him in the head.

Grace makes it out alive, but she cries because she failed Leon. The game ends there, and the names of the creators roll across the screen in Resident Evil Requiem.

You don't get to fight a final boss or see how the rest of the world turns out. It is a bad ending. Leon dies in a mean way because you didn't pay attention to what Elpis really was.
