Enemy cannons are not always the biggest threat to your Trampler in SAND: Raiders of Sophie. Other players who sneak on board while you're busy can be just as dangerous. The standard open entrance allows hostile raiders to climb on with little warning. There are enhanced entrance compartments with security doors, and it takes a little preparation to get one set up before you can use it.

What You Need First

Standard chassis will not fit with secure entrances, which are designed to overhang over a missing central section. Before anything else, you need to unlock a chassis variant that has that central section removed. With a compatible chassis, you can proceed to unlock the entrance itself.

Unlocking the Entrance

Open the Tech Tree from the main lobby and go to Land's branch. Look for the Wooden Vestibule, which is the first secure entrance option available. If you have the materials and Crowns to spare, keep going down the same branch to find more advanced vestibules with better durability and security. Some of these latter options also do not require a chassis variant with a missing central section.

Installing It on Your Trampler

Go to the blueprints menu and edit your trampler design. Replace the existing chassis with a compatible chassis with the central section cut out and install the Vestibule in the opening. Attach your decks and compartments to it and the game will automatically add doors between the connected decks. Afterwards, you can get rid of the old open entrance and redesign the surrounding area to utilize the space more effectively.

What It Actually Does

A secure entrance will not prevent all raiders from getting on board, but it will slow them down enough to allow you to react if someone tries to sneak in from below.
