When exploring in Solarpunk, it's important to stay hydrated, especially as you move away from your base. This guide covers the main ways of getting potable water and the main ways of transporting potable water.

Rain Catchment Devices

The first water source you will be able to access is the Rain Catchment Device, which is unlocked immediately. Go to any one of them and drink from it at any time to fill up your water. It is the easiest and doesn't need any additional steps.

Clear Bottles and Well Water

The more you work at the Research Station, the more Clear Bottles will be unlocked. These enable you to drink water from a Well or any lake you discover. Well water and lake water are both dirty, so you can't drink from the bottle just yet. One tip to know is that full bottles don't stack, so take that into account.

The furnace is used to purify water.

Once your bottle is full, drop it off at a Furnace and it will be processed there. That makes it clean drinking water that you can take with you and use as you please. You also receive the bottle back at the end of the process, so you're not wasting bottles. Bring water with you when you are outside.

Water for Cooking

Purified water also comes into play later on for certain recipes. As the game goes on, it is increasingly important to have a continuous flow of clean water, such as Watermelon Juice.
