In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, there are several armor suits to choose from, but this guide focuses on acquiring the best armor in the game in the Diamond Exoskeleton.
Accessing Prypiat Early
After progressing through the main story and reaching Garbage from the Lesser Zone, you’ll be able to access Prypiat.
Finding the Diamond Exoskeleton
Once in Prypiat, you’ll find some of the game’s best weapons, armor, and gear. Start at the Palace of Culture, the main base in Prypiat. This location includes a bed, a technician, and other useful amenities. From there, head to Sunny Kindergarten.
When you arrive, focus on the northeasternmost building, the one to the far left. Approach through the courtyard, and be cautious—this area is heavily populated with enemies. Clear them out or avoid them as needed. Head upstairs in the building and locate the F room. Inside, in the corner on top of some boxes, you should find the Diamond Exoskeleton.
If the Diamond Exoskeleton doesn’t appear, don’t worry—it’s not tied to story progression. Simply return to the Palace of Culture, sleep, and check again the following day. On my first attempt, the armor wasn’t there, but after sleeping and revisiting the kindergarten, it spawned.
Tips for Acquiring the Armor
- Be prepared to face numerous enemies in this area.
- Watch for emissions, which can occur unexpectedly and pose a significant threat.
Analyzing the Diamond Exoskeleton
The SEVA-D suit is already expensive and powerful, but the Diamond Exoskeleton offers a significant upgrade.
- Weight: 9.5 kilos (heavier than the SEVA-D).
- Artifact Slots: These come with five slots that have been pre-installed.
- Protection: Superior to the SEVA-D suit.
- Maximum Weight Bonus: Adds 17.6 kilos to your carrying capacity.
Upgrades
When taken to a technician, the armor already has four lead containers installed, requiring no blueprints. These containers allow you to equip artifacts with radiation without taking damage.
Key upgrades include
- Radiation Protection: Better protection from irradiation.
- Carrying Capacity: An increase of 10%
- Sprint Ability: You'll be able to sprint while wearing the armor.
Once you fully upgrade the armor
- Maximum Weight Bonus: Increases to 25.6 kilos.
- Stamina Regeneration: Improved by 5%.
- Weight Reduction: Down to 7.5 kilos.
- Value: 375,000 coupons.
With these upgrades, the Diamond Exoskeleton becomes the best armor in the game, combining excellent protection with functionality. Its artifact slots, especially with the lead containers, allow you to use radiation-heavy artifacts without consequence.
That’s how to get the Diamond Exoskeleton in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
