In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, after completing the mission A Needle in a Haystack, you’ll receive a task to locate several Stashes. While some of these stashes can be challenging to find, they are absolutely worth the effort because they often hold excellent gear.

The first stash appears here on the map. I’ll guide you through this one as it’s a bit trickier compared to the others, which are relatively easier to locate. This should give you an idea of the effort required and why these stashes are valuable.

The stash is located in a house. When you go inside, there’s nothing visible at first glance. However, the compass at the top of your screen indicates that the stash is positioned above you.

Step outside, and you’ll notice a truck nearby. The key is to use this truck to climb up. It might take a few tries—you may fall off, as I did—but once you manage to climb onto the truck, you can get onto the roof. Initially, you might think the stash is directly on the roof. But upon checking, you’ll realize the indicator shows it’s actually lower down.

To reach it, carefully move to the edge of the roof and drop down. There’s a small hole in the side of the roof that you need to crawl through. Crouch and navigate through this space, and you’ll find the stash tucked away in the back.

When you open it, you’ll discover some valuable items. For instance, one stash contains a mercenary’s light suit, which offers great protection compared to other gear available early in the game. This suit is valued at 20,000 coupons. You’ll also find a PTM Monolith in perfect condition (100% durability). Additionally, there’s some ammo and a journalist’s flash drive, which is critical for the quest.

After retrieving the flash drive, you’ll hear an audio message, signaling the next part of the mission. Make sure to check the other stashes, as they also hold excellent items. Whenever you’re nearby, it’s well worth the effort to explore them.

Accessing these stashes often requires creative thinking—look for crawl spaces, tiny holes, or objects to jump on for higher ground. If you’re struggling with any of them, don’t give up. The rewards you’ll get from these stashes make the challenge worthwhile.
