With its Kickstarter campaign being entirely funded, developer Aurogon Shanghai announced today that their 2D-animated action-adventure game Afterimage now has a free playable demo accessible on Steam. The Afterimage Kickstarter campaign has exceeded its original financial goal in only 40 hours, with more than 1,100 supporters in just one week. To ensure the Kickstarter community that Afterimage achieves its full potential when it launches this Winter on PC and consoles. Aurogon Shanghai will announce the new stretch goals after the campaign ends on April 21.
Afterimage is a Metroidvania game in Engadin, a fantasy land inspired by the likes of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Ori and the Blind Forest. Human ambition and violence have ruined the continent, once a glorious place of magical life and exotic monsters. Unfortunate events have wreaked havoc on the area, affecting indigenous wildlife and people alike.
A girl who lost her memory following the great calamity embarks on a trip to retrace her steps to discover her history. Explore large linked landscapes, solve intricate platform puzzles, and meet hilarious people who may assist or hinder Renee's adventure. Use Renee's elegant weapon assaults and magic spells to battle threatening and weird adversaries in a beautiful but dangerous environment.
In Afterimage, Renee's strikes are both powerful and graceful. As Renee regains lost memories and explores deeper into this eerily beautiful hand-drawn universe, new weapons, talents, and magic spells will be unlocked. Players can use the skill tree to improve Renee's qualities and passive abilities to improve combat methods and swap weapons spontaneously during brutal boss battles. Passive powers. When it comes to collecting loots, players can hunt for forgotten recipes. These recipes can be given over to traveling chefs who will transform them into mouth-watering culinary masterpieces.
Until April 21, backers of Afterimage may pledge their support on Kickstarter. There is now a playable demo on Steam. PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will get the full Afterimage release in the 2022 Winter.
