Anthem's Absent at EA Play Spells Doom for the Game

Is Anthem dead?

EA Play 2019 ended with the debut of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and new information on EA's various live service games including Apex Legends Battlefield V, and The Sims 4. But one game that was strangely absent was Anthem. Which could indicate that the game is dying.

Currently, Anthem no longer has a roadmap on the official site and the latest livestream featuring the arcade-like Cataclysm did not go well with fans. After showing off multiple live service games during EA Play and not including the most recent game Anthem has many thinking that the game is dead. Considering that the game was heavily marketed last year, come out months ago, and now has no trace at E3 2019 could indicate the end.

However, it could also mean that BioWare and EA are taking a step back to reevaluate the game. As stated in Jason Schreier's extensive investigative report, Anthem had a lot of resources dedicated to the project and years of development. Tossing that out would look good on EA.

Anthem is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
