This is a guide for newcomers to Dynasty Warriors: Origins; tips include relevant beginner information that will help you get acquainted with the game. Whether you want to optimize your settings, understand the in-game mechanics, or improve your game strategies, this guide has everything you need to enhance your game.
Preventing Corruption of Save File
Create a few save files, at least three or four. This is especially important for Steam and also console users. Corrupted saves can wipe out your entire progress, and recovering corrupted files can be tricky. If you do encounter a corrupted save, find the autosave file associated with your playthrough (for example, a file ending as ''06.dat'') and replace the corrupted one in your save folder.
Optimizing Settings
Enable auto-use for Meat buns and the Lock-on in the settings. These changes dramatically upgrade the game experience itself for automatic health recovery and easy targeting when the battle begins.
Understanding Map Icons
In battles, Dark Blue and Red Dots represent allies or enemies with high morale. Stronger enemies have glowing icons, and teardrop symbols show allies with low health. Watch for duelable enemies (indicated by white swords) and use ladders, doors, and higher ground strategically.
Bond Tips
To improve bonds, locate handshaking icons on the map, which indicate nearby Bond Events. Check the full map to see characters waiting for interaction.
Skirmishes
Generally, skirmishes aren’t worth your time unless you aim to maximize peace in a region toward the endgame.
Skill Tree Strategy
Focus on skills that improve meat bun recovery, Bavery, and Musou Abilities. As you rank up, prioritize attack, defense, and health boosts.
Gear Recommendations
For gems, choose a Health Gem for consistent healing. Accessories should prioritize attack and defense boosts, with adjustments for specific battles like those against Lu Bu.
Battle Arts and Tactics
Select versatile Battle Arts like Palm Strike to break unblockable attacks. Use tactics like Flaming Volley and Encourage for consistent success.
Weapon Reforging
Only reforge Grade 7 weapons with six slots. Prioritize traits like extended parry windows, attack boosts after perfect evades, and bravery gains.
Ranking Up Weapons
Level up all weapons evenly to rank up efficiently, as companions’ weapon use also contributes to proficiency.
Combat Tips
Use collateral damage by positioning enemies for AOE hits. Conserve heavy attacks and Battle Arts for Commanders' True Musous, in particular, True Warrior difficulty.
These tips are intended to assist you in overcoming obstacles and enjoying Dynasty Warriors: Origins to the fullest. Use them to make your way smoother and less harried. Best of luck, warriors!
