Sony Still Pursuing The Bloodborne Remaster
While PlayStation wants it, Hidetaka Miyazaki is too busy to work on the Bloodborne Remaster.

Souls fans or not, everyone knows how Bloodborne has become the best in its genre. It's one of FromSoftware's crown jewels and has been featured in several lists of the greatest video games of all time, praising its gameplay, atmosphere, sound design, Lovecraftian themes, and interconnected world design.
After The Old Hunters DLC was released in November 2015, its technical performance, which improved through post-release patches, was somewhat criticized. The game, however, sold 7.46 million copies just by February 2022 and later made its way to comic series, board games, and card games.
FromSoftware hasn't spilled anything after the DLC release, even though fans have been constantly asking for a remake or remaster of the game. While there are some suspicions concerning the Bloodborne Remaster, last year, there were also predictions that a possible PC version of Bloodborne would appear. That rumor, however, is still in circulation.
In December 2024, Sony also showed a video thanking their users during the PlayStation's 30th anniversary. Although this video does not particularly stand out, one element that drew viewers' attention was its seeming execution of the Bloodborne concept right at the conclusion, when the sentence "It's About Persistence " appears. Thus, with all of this, most communities truly want a Remaster.
Recently, Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Interactive Entertainment's Head of Independent Developer Initiative, was interviewed. When asked why they have not done anything about Bloodborne yet, he mentioned an interesting fact. Then he mentioned that the Bloodborne Remaster, or remaster, would be simple to make, but the project never started since Hidetaka Miyazaki didn't want that.
It's not that Hidetaka Miyazaki wouldn't want that; it's just that he is too busy to work on the project, and he does not want anybody else to touch it since he loves the game so much, not even the Bloodborne PC or PS5 versions. Despite his interest in resurrecting Bloodborne, he is way too busy to work on the project himself. Sony knows that Hidetaka Miyazaki is busy and cannot accomplish it alone, yet the PlayStation crew honors his wish.
Obviously, Shuhei Yoshida will not reveal everything that's happening behind the scenes. Ever since Sony acquired major shares from FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, a lot has been expected to happen. We assume Hidetaka Miyazaki will require some sort of involvement if we truly see a Bloodborne Remaster.
There's hardly any doubt that Sony would love to see a Bloodborne Remaster, but at the same time, they won't make the mistake of removing Miyazaki from the project, especially if there is a sequel or even a remaster in question. Shuhei Yoshida was right about one thing: nobody will do a better job than him since he truly admires the game. If PlayStation is going to do it, they should try to get as much of Miyazaki's time as possible, which will be costly, but undoubtedly, with their investments in Kadokawa, they can absolutely work something out.
