Innersloth Reflects On Among Us Success
Community Director Victoria Tran explains why the game re-surged in 2020.

Innersloth’s Community Director Victoria Tran opened up at this year’s Computer Electronics Show (CES) about why Among Us became a world sensation. The game had originally released back in 2018, but had mostly a small community until Twitch streamers flocked to it during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Tran stated that the game’s simplicity made it very easy to understand and lowered the barrier to entry - players just need to chat with each other to win games. Another big factor was the game’s low specs, allowing new players to join in without a strong gaming PC or expensive console. The use of cross-play to let mobile and PC players in the same match was also crucial.
Tran also teased what is next for Among Us and Innersloth. There will be more community focused features to allow players to add and track one another, with the hope that the game can turn into its own social network. But, Tran said that the real big plans for the game will catch players by surprise.
