With Trump's 90-day suspension of most of his "reciprocal tariffs" in place, Nintendo is even more inclined to ship as much as possible. They may already have more than a million Switch 2 consoles in the U.S. as it waits out Trump's tariffs. Bloomberg quotes Nintendo as saying that the United States will receive the lion's share of the Switch 2 shipments.
In February, more than 700,000 units were sent from Vietnam to the US, and last month, the number increased to 383,000. While it is unclear whether the shipments were exclusively for Switch 2 consoles, Bloomberg reports that customs records from Vietnam indicate Nintendo is able to construct a "stockpile of millions" of consoles in preparation for the June 5 launch of the Switch 2.
With Trump's 90-day suspension of most of his "reciprocal tariffs" in place, Nintendo is even more inclined to ship as much as possible. As a result, the economies of Vietnam and Cambodia, where Nintendo has a significant manufacturing presence, will only be subject to a 10% tariff instead of a 40% rate.
Nintendo delayed pre-orders for the Switch 2 in the US due to tariffs, leading many to believe the firm will charge more than $449.99. Nintendo, on the other hand, may be able to weather the storm without harming customers by stocking up on goods. While speaking with CNBC on Monday, Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser mentioned, "We've had some time to build up inventories on a global basis" in preparation for the expected demand for the Switch 2.
Similarly, in an effort to avoid being hit by Trump's tariffs, Apple has been importing loads of iPhones. While the president temporarily halted most "reciprocal tariffs," he has maintained and even increased the levy on Chinese imports, bringing them up to 125%. Many experts believe that China is where Apple makes the vast majority of its iPhones.

Also, in an effort to avoid the worst effects of Trump's tariffs, Apple has started sending huge quantities of iPhones by air. Despite the president's decision to postpone most "reciprocal tariffs," he has persisted in increasing the duties on Chinese imports, which are currently at 125%. A large majority of Apple's iPhones are reportedly made in China.
