The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 promises backward compatibility and 4K graphics.

The good news for Nintendo fans is that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible, so you will be able to buy and play original Switch games and access the current Nintendo Switch Online system.
According to Nintendo, this is all about a seamless transition for their massive audience and trying to keep hold of the over 100 million players using the Switch platform consistently.
Obviously, they are fully aware of how many of their fans want to leap into next-gen hardware with them. But that is not all. If the rumors continue in this surprise turn of events, it'll come with new tech such as mesh shaders and 4K resolution—a quantum leap from the current specifications of the Switch console.
Said to be the work of reliable data miner WaterTune, such hardware would theoretically allow graphically heavy-hitting titles on a Nintendo system. This might even be the reason that Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive, recently warmed up to Nintendo and stated how successful platforms like theirs are "always" on his company's radar.
Getting a chance to see Red Dead Redemption 2, along with other iconic AAA games running on the Switch 2, is certainly a dream of mine. Think of Arthur Morgan’s emotional journey in Nintendo's latest graphics upgrade—think of him still taking that somewhat "potato-like" appearance Nintendo fans are used to. That sounds both hilarious and perfectly Nintendo enough to actually happen.
I’d love to be able to experience Arthur shouting “Lenny” wherever I want. Will that rumored 4K capability of the Switch 2 give his voice that extra oomph? Well, with how many rumors we are seeing about the Switch 2 and with Nintendo officially acknowledging it finally, there really isn’t that much of a wait left until the console is officially announced.
