In God of War Ragnarök, you might be curious about why you can travel between Realms but cannot access Muspelheim, where you can play in The Crucible. Like in the previous God of War game, The Crucible has some of the best rewards and resources, which are crucial for obtaining the finest armor sets and upgrades.
However, to unlock Muspelheim and The Crucible, you'll need the Muspelheim seed. Instead of acquiring a full seed, you have to find two halves.
First Muspelheim Seed Half
The first half of the Muspelheim seed is located early in the game, during your time in Alfheim while searching for Tyr. During this mission, Mimir will mention a mistake involving some rigs he had placed in the water. You'll receive a favor to destroy these rigs, and your focus will be on Modvitnir's Rig.
At the top of Modvitnir's Rig, you'll find a legendary chest containing the first half of the Muspelheim seed. This area is easy to spot as you'll be progressing through the main storyline, and the chest is located at the highest point of the rig.
Second Muspelheim Seed Half
For the second half, you must complete the "Forging Destiny" mission from The Path questline. Once you've reached this point, head to Dragon Beach, south of Radsvinn's Rig and southeast of the Watchtower.
At Dragon Beach, you'll notice several collectibles, but your goal is straightforward. After docking your boat, look directly ahead, where you'll see a wooden beam. Use your spear to toss into it, allowing Kratos to vault up. There's a spirit nearby offering a favor, but your main focus is across the gap, past the bridge near the giant statue.
You'll face enemies (if it's your first time in the area). After dealing with them, find an explosive item in the area and throw it at the golden rubble to reveal another legendary chest. This chest holds the second half of the Muspelheim seed.
Once you've gathered both halves, find the Mystical Gateway and open it. Muspelheim will now be available as a travel location. The Crucible should be accessible now.
