A Good Location near the Well

The vicinity of the well is a good place to begin. Firewood is piled up in one of the nearby buildings, and it's a great opportunity to take it. There is also a pottage pot here, but these are everywhere, so don't worry about running out of them. There is also a wooden pitchfork and a scythe nearby.

Picking Up the Short Sword

In one of the buildings in this cluster, you'll come across a short sword. If you're looking for a close-range weapon to use with your spear, pick it up. At this stage of the run, you should be near your carry weight limit, but that will be sorted out once you reach a base and drop some of your inventory.

The Choice of the Two Houses

In this area, there are two houses side by side. It has three separate doors, making it difficult to secure correctly, plus poor comfort levels and a built-in fire pit that can sometimes burn you while you're cooking on it. Pass on that one and go to the house next door. This second house comes with a straw bed already in place, saving you some setup time. When you get inside, close the door and make a fire pit with two sticks of wood and a bundle of straw. This building also has its own storage chest, so you can store gear immediately.
