Rope is featured in several early crafts in God Save Birmingham, such as the wooden stick you need to make a pottage stand. This guide will explain how to obtain it in the early game.

The Pitchfork and the Long Wooden Stick
The best early source of rope is in the same building where you collect straw and look for gloves. To get a long wooden stick, disassemble a pitchfork you find in this area. It doesn't always drop the material on the first attempt, but if it doesn't, you can make one later by hand, and making one by hand involves using rope as an ingredient.
Disassembling for Rope
To obtain the rope itself, break apart straw bungs and cots throughout this part of the building. You can also gain blacksmithing experience by disassembling weapons you find, so it's not a bad idea to do it every time you find a weapon you don't need.

Climbing for Rope and Metal Hooks
Keep an eye on your carry weight while collecting all of this. If you are a few pounds over, it's fine, but don't go too far. Go up to the top of this building where the rope is kept and pick it up. As you're up there, take apart a nearby saddle, too, as it will provide you with more metal hooks, which you'll need for other early constructions, such as the well and the pottage pot.
