Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | Where to Find Wiglett and Evolve It into Wugtrio
Catch Wiglett on an early beach, then evolve it into Wugtrio at level 26.
Game Guide by Monarch on Feb 25, 2026
Wiglett is one of the easiest Water types to grab early if you know where to look. It spawns on beaches and can be found very close to the starting area. The tricky part is catching it, because it often slips underground and becomes untargetable for a moment.
Once you catch one, the evolution is simple. You just need to level it up to the right point.
Where To Find Wiglett Early
A reliable early spot is a small beach near the starting location. Open the map and mark the nearby beach area, then ride down and move along the sand. Wiglett can be found on other beaches too, but this beach is one of the closest low-level places you can reach right away, which makes it a great first stop.

How To Catch a Wiglett Without It Escaping Underground
Catching Wiglett can feel finicky. It will go underground often, and when it does, you cannot throw a Poké Ball at it even if you lock on. The best method is to wait until it pops up, then rush it quickly. Use your mount boost and push straight into it as soon as it appears above ground.
If it dives again, back off, watch for it to surface, and try the rush again. Sometimes it takes a few attempts, so stay close but do not waste throws while it is underground.

Evolve Wiglett Into Wugtrio
After you catch Wiglett, evolve it by leveling it up to level 26. Once it reaches level 26, it evolves into Wugtrio. You can level it normally through battles, or speed it up with candies if you want the evolution quickly.

Fast Leveling Tip With Candy
If you want Wugtrio right away, feed Wiglett candies until it hits level 26. A large candy can help you reach the exact level quickly. As soon as it hits the evolution level, the evolution animation triggers, and Wugtrio appears.
