Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | How to Get Shiny Cinderace

Three reliable ways to unlock Shiny Cinderace fast, even if you missed the raid.

Getting Shiny Cinderace in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet comes down to one thing: getting access to Cinderace (or Scorbunny) in your save, then breeding the right way.

You can do this through the 7-Star Cinderace Tera Raid Event, through co-op breeding with Union Circle, or by transferring one in using Pokémon HOME. Once you have the line available, you can breed until you hatch a shiny.

Method 1: Use The 7-Star Cinderace Tera Raid Event, Then Breed

The first method is to be ready when the 7-Star Cinderace Tera Raid Event is live. If the event is available, clearing it gives you access to Cinderace, the key step in breeding.

In the raid setup shown, you can follow a simple opening plan to push damage early while staying safe. You can run Armarouge for Psychic Terrain, stack Fake Tears from teammates, and add Helping Hand support to power up the main hit. If the boss starts boosting and knocking your team out, using Focus Sash on your Pokémon helps you survive and keep chipping away until the clear.

After the clear, catching the raid Cinderace in a special Poké Ball matters for breeding. If you catch it in a Level Ball, that ball can be passed down to a future Scorbunny you hatch, which is great if you care about matching ball style.

Start Breeding Shiny Scorbunny After The Raid

Once you have Cinderace, you can begin breeding right away by pairing it with a Ditto. The fastest approach is using the Masuda Method, which means breeding with a Ditto from a different language region. This increases your shiny odds and shortens the grind.

To speed up egg production, you can travel to Alfornada and buy a meal that gives Egg Power Level 2. After that, set up a picnic and wait for about 3 minutes. You can usually collect up to about ten eggs in a short window, then hatch them and repeat.

Shiny Odds You Can Expect While Breeding

If you don't use any boosts when you breed, the chance is 1 in 4,096 for each egg. It drops to about 1 in 2,048 with just the Shiny Charm. It drops to about 1 in 683 when you only use the Masuda Method. The chances of hatching a shiny Scorbunny go up to about 1 in 512 if you stack Shiny Charm and Masuda Method. This is the best common setup for getting one.

Method 2: Multiplayer Breeding In Union Circle (Even If You Missed The Raid)

If you missed the raid and do not have Cinderace, co-op breeding is the best option. To join Union Circle, you need to have a Pokémon that can breed with Cinderace (in the same egg group) or bring a Ditto.

After you get acquainted, both players can use egg food to boost Egg Power and then have a picnic. The best part is that eggs can appear for both players, and they can each pick up Scorbunny eggs from the basket. This lets those who don't have Cinderace still acquire the eggs and start hatching.

This method also keeps the ball inheritance benefit. If the Cinderace parent was caught in a Level Ball, the hatched Scorbunny can also come in Level Balls, which makes co-op breeding extra valuable.

Method 3: Transfer With Pokémon HOME (Paid Option)

Pokémon HOME is used in the last way. This choice is for people who already have Scorbunny or Cinderace saved somewhere else or who own Pokémon Sword and Shield. You can get Pokémon HOME from the Nintendo eShop, connect it to your save data, and then move your Pokémon into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet when they are compatible. No matter if the Pokémon you moved is shiny or not, you can still breed them the same way.

Common Fixes That Save Time

It's possible for eggs to move slowly. Make sure Egg Power Level 2 is turned on and that you stay in the lunch area long enough for the basket to fill. If you are really into hunting, stacking Shiny Charm and Masuda Method is what makes the difference, since 1 in 512 is a lot easier to handle than full chances. Lock in your ball pick early by catching the raid Cinderace with a ball you want to pass down, like a Level Ball. This will help you look good.
