Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | How to Get Shiny Charmander
A quick, reliable method to farm Shiny Charmander in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with a simple reset loop.

Getting Shiny Charmander in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is one of the easiest shiny hunts you can do. You mainly need the right location, a Fire Level 3 Sandwich, and a simple back-and-forth reset route that forces spawns to refresh.
With a little patience, you can get a Shiny Charmander and evolve it into a Shiny Charizard without complicated steps.
Go To Savannah Rest Area 1
Start by heading to Savannah Rest Area 1. This is the main spot for the hunt. Once you arrive, move to the nearby area where Charmander spawns. This hunt works best when you stay in the same small zone so the spawns are consistent.

Save Before You Make The Sandwich
Before you start any Picnic or make the sandwich, save your game. This matters because you can reset and get your ingredients back if you reload from that save. If you save after making the sandwich, you can lose your materials even after resetting, which is frustrating. Saving first keeps your resources safe.
Make A Fire Level 3 Sandwich
You need a Fire Level 3 Sandwich for the easiest results. There are two simple ways to make it. If you have Salty Herba Mystica, use the top option. If you do not have it, use the other option. Salty Herba Mystica is described as the hardest one to get, so the alternate version is useful when you are missing it.

End The Picnic And Trigger Charmander Spawns
After you finish the Picnic, turn around and wait for Charmander to start spawning. The spawns can take a moment. If it feels slow, head up to the top of the nearby small path. Moving up there helps the spawns appear faster and keeps the hunt flowing.
Use The 15-On-Screen Spawn Trick
A useful trick is to watch how many Pokémon appear on-screen. The method explained is that there are usually 15 Pokémon on-screen at a time. If there is a shiny present, it can become 16 Pokémon because it is treated as a separate spawn. If you notice 16 at once, it can signal that one of them is shiny, which is helpful for subtle shinies.
Reset Spawns With A Simple Back-And-Forth Route
To force quick refreshes, run up into the area and then run back out. Doing this resets the Pokémon spawns in that spot. Keep repeating the same back-and-forth movement until Shiny Charmander appears. The example shown takes about 10 minutes to complete the reset loop before the shiny shows up.

Save Before You Battle Any Shiny
When you finally see Shiny Charmander, save your game before you start the battle. This protects you from unlucky knockouts or mistakes. If something goes wrong, you can reload and try again.
Catching Tips For Shiny Charmander
Charmander is shown at Level 58, and the starter Pokémon are described as having a low catch rate. Bringing False Swipe helps you safely lower its HP. Be careful how you attempt the capture, especially if you want a specific ball, like a standard Poké Ball, for nostalgia.
A major risk is that Charmander can use Flare Blitz. Flare Blitz can knock it out from recoil damage, which can cause you to lose the shiny if you did not save. Saving first is what lets you reload and fight it again if recoil takes it out.
What The Shiny Evolution Line Looks Like
Shiny Charmander has a yellow look. Shiny Charmeleon keeps the same yellow pattern. Shiny Charizard becomes the standout final form, shown as a large black shiny. If you only want the best final result, evolving into Shiny Charizard is the main goal.
