If you want Chi-Yu in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, you need to hunt down the hidden Purple Stakes first. Each stake you pull weakens the seal on the Firescourge Shrine.

Once all the purple stakes are removed, the shrine opens, and the encounter becomes available. The good part is that each stake is in a fixed spot, so you can clear this fast with the right route.

Purple Stake Location 1 Near The Big Pond

The first Purple Stake sits right next to a big pond. It is placed where the river begins, so use the waterline as your main landmark and look along the edge where the flow starts.

Purple Stake Location 2 On A Ridge Near The School

Another Purple Stake is very close to the school area. You are looking for a ridge near that central region. Once you climb onto the ridge, the stake is easy to spot from the higher ground.

Purple Stake Location 3 Along Another Ridge

The next Purple Stake is also on a ridge. Move along the raised land and keep your camera sweeping left and right. This one is placed in a straightforward spot once you are on the correct ridgeline.

Purple Stake Location 4: Beside a Pokémon Center

Another Purple Stake is right by a Pokémon Center. This makes it one of the easiest to confirm because you can use the center as a clear checkpoint. Get close to the area and look around the edge near the station.

Purple Stake Location 5 on a large platform across from a Pokémon Center

One stake is on a big platform across from a Pokémon Center. The exact spot can feel tricky because the area has many small rises and similar angles. Use the platform itself as the main cue, then use the nearby tree as a visual reference to line up the correct position and find the stake.

Firescourge Shrine Location

After pulling every Purple Stake, go to the Firescourge Shrine. The shrine sits in the bottom middle part of the map, slightly to the right. A rock formation on the map makes it easier to pinpoint, so zoom in and look for that distinct shape. Once you reach the shrine, interact with it to access the sealed area and trigger the Chi-Yu encounter if the seal is fully removed.

Quick Tips To Avoid Missing A Stake

At least one Purple Stake was missed if the shrine still looks locked. First, check the ridge spots again, since they can mix in with the rest of the land. Once you get back to the platform stake, go more slowly and use the tree as a guide again. That's where you'll most likely miss it.
