Resident Evil 4 Guide | All Small Key and Drawer Locations

As always, you need the keys to unlock chests and collect items in Resident Evil 4. Without the small keys, you will be missing out on many precious items in the game. This guide will show you where to locate the small keys and locked drawers in chronological order. 

It is irrelevant what sequence you use these keys on locked drawers, but keep in mind that you will be unable to get any collectibles if you have progressed the plot too far since there is no way to access Free-Roam or Chapter Select after a chapter is over. 

Also, note that you will no longer be able to return to the Valley to access the drawer containing everything you have after you have Ashley for the first time. So your whole playthrough can be ruined if you don't follow the order.

Chapter 2

Valley Small Key

Once you defeat the first Merchant, you will enter a region where you will encounter a large number of enemies. Within a small box that is found in a house in the southern region, you will find your first Key.

Abandoned Factory Locked Drawer

Once you are in the Abandoned Factory, you will come across a Drawer. In it, you will find your second small Key.

Village Chief’s Manor Small Key 

After encountering a Chainsaw adversary in a wooded region, you will arrive at the Village Chief's Manor. On the ground floor, you will find the key.

Chapter 3

Village Square

Once you are in Village Square, the Key will be inside a drawer in one of the nearby houses.

Fish Farm Key Location

The little shack on the left side at the end of the Fish Farm, near the building where you collect fuel, contains an item required to obtain a treasure.

Quarry Key Location 

Near the Merchant area, you will find a ladder going down, and you will find the Key.

Chapter 4

Lakeside Settlement

Locate the little Key on a cart in the same location as the Castellan.

Enter the house in Lakeside Settlement and use the little Key to open the drawer in the first room on the left.

Church Small Key Location

After entering the church with the Insignia and walking inside, the Small Key is located on the right side of the altar.

Church Locked Drawer 

The yellow diamond can be discovered in the church's typewriter saving chamber. To access it, open the drawer with the Small Key.

Chapter 8

Bindery

Found in the passageway after completing the Lithographic Stones Puzzle. Return to the Bindery and use it to open the locked drawer containing a treasure.

To obtain this reward, open the locked drawer in the Bindery using the Small Key.

Chapter 9

Grand Hall

It is located in the room above to the north. Open the cabinet on the left to get a Small Key, which is required for a treasure.

Audience Chamber Locked Drawer

Open the Locked Drawer in the Audience Hall with the Small Key you found earlier.

Chapter 12

Ballroom

After taking the elevator at the beginning of the chapter, it is stored in a little briefcase directly ahead of it.

Castle Battlements Locked Drawer

Located inside the Castle Battlements' Locked Drawer. Open it using the Small Key gained at the beginning of the chapter. The quickest route is through the Courtyard typewriter save room, then east and north by the little stairs on the Castle Battlements.
