It has been about a year since the release of Nvidia's RTX 50 series and AMD's RX 9000 series, and prices have mostly stabilized.

Now seems like the perfect time to create a tier list. After extensive testing and hands-on experience with a variety of graphics cards, we can analyze which GPUs stand out in 2025 for performance, features, and value.

NVIDIA Graphics Cards

Starting with Nvidia, let's evaluate the RTX 50 series.

RTX 5060 Ti 8GB

At $380, the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB was not well-received at launch. While it handles esports games well, the price for 8GB of VRAM in 2025 feels too high. For that reason, this card falls into the D tier.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB

Priced at $430, the 16GB version is actually impressive. With the extra VRAM and full access to DLSS features, this card is solid and earns a B-tier rating. It could even approach A tier, but B tier feels right given its value and performance.

RTX 5060

This 8GB card is $80 cheaper than the 5060 Ti. While the savings are appreciated, it doesn't offer enough value compared to the Ti version. For that reason, it sits in the C tier.

RTX 5070 Ti

The 5070 Ti used to cost too much, but now it costs $750, which is its suggested retail price. This is our favorite RTX 50 card because it has 16GB of VRAM and works well. It gets an S-tier rating.

RTX 5070

The card's first price was $550, but it currently costs roughly $500. It works well enough to be in the B tier, even though it's not ideal. At this pricing, it's a good buy.

RTX 5080

After dropping to around $999, the RTX 5080 approaches the performance of the more expensive RTX 4090 when overclocked. With 16GB VRAM, DisplayPort 2.1 support, and multi-frame generation, it earns a B-tier ranking.

RTX 5090

The RTX 5090 is expensive at around $2,000, but with 32GB VRAM and incredible performance, it deserves an A-tier rating. The price is high, but the card is undeniably powerful and appealing.

AMD Graphics Cards

Now, looking at AMD, the RX 9000 series has had a rough time in certain markets.

RX 9060 XT 16GB

At a reasonable $350 and with 16GB VRAM, this card offers excellent value and earns an S-tier ranking. It competes well against Nvidia cards in its class.

RX 9060 XT 8GB

At $50 cheaper, this 8GB version is comparable to the RTX 5060. Its limited VRAM reduces its value, placing it in the C tier.

RX 9070 XT

On paper, the RX 9070 XT is a strong card that rivals the RTX 5070 Ti in many areas, though Nvidia retains a slight feature advantage. While MSRP pricing would make this an S-tier card, it has been overpriced for most of its lifespan. In 2025, its value is questionable, and we place it in the C tier.

RX 9070

Similar to the 9070 XT, the RX 9070 has been above MSRP for most of its lifecycle. With 16GB of VRAM, it's a solid card in its own right, but its pricing makes it a poor purchase, earning a D-tier rating.

Final Thoughts

In 2025, some Nvidia and AMD cards stand out clearly for value and performance. The RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9060 XT 16GB are the best choices, although a few 8GB options and pricey AMD cards make buying less appealing. When picking a GPU, we suggest that you think about both performance and price. Also, keep an eye out for deals that provide you the most VRAM and features for your money.
