Talents are abilities in Star Wars Zero Company that operate separately from an Operator's Specialization, letting you customize how a character performs regardless of class. Custom Operators can choose from Universal Talents, while story characters have unique Talents that are permanently tied to them.

How Talents Work
Every Operator has one Talent and one Specialization. These are separate parts of an Operator's build, meaning you can pair a Universal Talent with different Specializations to create different playstyles.
Universal Talents are available to custom Operators, while authored story characters have their own fixed Talents. You can also upgrade Talents through the Focus Tree.
There are 11 named Universal Talents, although Built-In Comlink is exclusive to Astromechs, leaving 10 Universal Talents available to regular custom Operators. Seven unique Talents also belong to story Operators.
A Life of Labor
A Life of Labor increases an Operator's Health and Defense. Higher ranks also boost Melee Damage and Critical Damage. This straightforward defensive Talent works with a variety of Specializations.
Anticipation
Anticipation allows an Operator to gain Evasion, helping them avoid incoming enemy attacks. The Talent becomes more flexible as it is upgraded. Higher ranks increase its usage and eventually let the Evasion bonus apply to an ally.
Built-In Comlink
Built-In Comlink is an Astromech-exclusive Talent that gives allies additional AP. Regular custom Operators cannot select it. Upgrading the Talent increases its capabilities.
Cold Blooded
Cold Blooded allows an Operator to gain Vicious stacks, making it easier to land Critical Hits. Upgrading the Talent increases its Critical Damage and eventually allows the Operator to gain multiple Vicious stacks.
Espionage
Espionage rewards an Operator with additional Intel when they participate in Tactical Missions. This is primarily a strategy-layer Talent rather than a direct combat ability. Higher ranks increase the amount of Intel gained.
Fortitude
Fortitude increases an Operator's Defense while they are Injured. Higher ranks provide increasingly powerful defensive bonuses, with the final rank also removing the Chance-to-Hit penalty caused by Injury.
Grit
Grit gives an Operator additional Health and Invulnerable stacks, allowing them to survive incoming attacks. The Talent becomes stronger through upgrades, eventually providing multiple Invulnerable stacks.
Sabotage
Sabotage allows an Operator to detonate certain explosive objects on the battlefield. Upgrades let you use Sabotage more times during combat, and the final rank removes its per-combat usage limit.
Taunt
Taunt forces an enemy to attack the Operator instead of their allies. Upgrading Taunt increases its effectiveness and eventually improves the amount of damage reduction applied to the affected enemy.

The Bigger They Are...
The Bigger They Are... gives the Operator bonus damage against powerful targets such as Elites and Bosses. The damage bonus increases as the Talent is upgraded, making it especially useful against high-priority enemies.
Thievery
Thievery lets an Operator earn additional Credits while participating in Tactical Missions. Higher ranks increase the amount of Credits gained, making this Talent useful when you want to prioritize the campaign's economy.
All Story Operator Talents
Story Operators have unique Talents that custom Operators cannot select. These Talents remain attached to their respective characters even when their Specialization changes.
Hawks - Fearless Leader
Fearless Leader increases Assist Damage and Defense for Operators while Hawks is present.
The bonuses improve as the Talent is upgraded.
Trick - For My Brothers
For My Brothers allows Trick to survive being downed and automatically revive on the following turn.
Upgrades improve the amount of Health recovered and Trick's resistance to Injury.
Tel-Rea Vokoss - Strong with the Force
Strong with the Force gives Tel-Rea stacks of Harmony each turn, increasing Lightsaber Deflection and attack damage.
Upgrading the Talent increases the amount of Harmony gained.
Cly Kullervo - Combat Jump
Combat Jump allows Cly to use her jetpack to jump to a target location, pushing enemies and inflicting Burn.
Higher ranks increase the ability's range and Burning stacks.
Luco Bronc - Combat Gas
Combat Gas gives Luco stacks of Sharpened Senses, increasing his Chance to Hit.
The Talent becomes stronger as it is upgraded.
Jae Mordant - Final Shot
Final Shot automatically assists against and eliminates eligible low-health targets.
Upgrading the Talent increases the Health threshold at which Final Shot can activate.
Kabb Uppercut - Uppercut
Uppercut lets Kabb perform a powerful knockback melee attack that refunds the AP if it defeats the target.
Upgrades increase the attack's damage.

Talent Tips
Choose a Talent that complements your Operator's role. Since Talents and Specializations are separate, you have plenty of freedom when creating builds.

- Grit helps Operators who need to withstand incoming attacks.
- The Bigger They Are... is particularly useful against Elite and Boss enemies.
- Thievery and Espionage are useful when you want additional Credits or Intel from Tactical Missions.
Remember that story characters keep their unique Talents, even when their Specialization changes.
Final Thoughts
Talents are an important part of building an effective squad in Star Wars Zero Company. Universal Talents give custom Operators additional ways to specialize, while story characters have unique abilities that help define their roles.
