Here's a guide on how to unlock all the fetishes in Witchfire and their best uses.

Fetishes play a crucial role in Witchfire; they can impact combat as well as work to heal you when wounded.

This complete guide has got you covered on all the fetishes that appear in Witchfire and, more importantly, how you can use them to your advantage.

Bittersweet Nightshade

The Bittersweet Nightshade like many of the other fetishes to come, is obtained via Research.

The Bittersweet Nightshade provides an effective solution for when things get out of hand. You can even deliberately be around 50% health, so any time you're hit, you get the license to blow away your attackers.

That being said, it's important to mention that this is a risky play and not very plausible on lower levels. The other fetishes provide a more subtle benefit that is better in the long run. Nightshade is not bad for a starter fetish, but we've got bigger names to come ahead.

Henbane

The Henbane is obtained via Research.

No complaints here whatsoever. Significant healing buffs with almost no downsides; you even get damage reduction if you heal during combat.

It's preferable not to need to heal at all, but it's almost impossible to play through Witchfire without getting hurt, so Henbane does a lot of heavy lifting, especially when combined with Arcana and Incense related to healing. Overall, it's great.

Monkshood

It can be obtained via Irongate Castle Vault.

If you overcome a bunch of tough fights and claim their Manifestations, you can stack shields to be invincible later on, but actually, in-game, it seldom goes as planned.

This strategy would work better with a long-range focus, but not every area or fight will give you the space necessary for that to be a possibility. It's not a bad fetish, by any stretch of the imagination; only if you're agile can you have some fun with it. The fetish, next in line, is preferred to Monkshood.

Belladonna

This one is special, but fairly easy to retrieve from Research just like Henbane and Bittersweet Nightshade.

The most versatile tool in Witchfire, hands down. As most forms of damage fall below 25 HP, you can take a hit without even suffering any damage once a minute. This might not seem like much, but to any agile Preyer who rarely finds themselves challenged, it's just the perfect tool for the long runs.

Knowing you have the shield charged can even open doors for attacks like tanking a hit from a mook so you can finish off a stunned Grenadier.

You can also put it to the test by setting off a trap to trigger the Witch's Calamity. It even works for picking up cursed items. Belladonna is a must-have for any build.

Balewort

Balewort can be found through Research.

A riskier Fetish that manages to increase your staying power in dire situations by quite a bit, especially in combination with certain Incense that affects healing.

At the beginning of your run, you might not notice that you have it, but once you drop below 50% HP and you're running out of elixirs, then Balewort can be your best friend.

Against bosses, however, it's not of much use and doesn't open up any other strategies. Henbane nicks Balewort at keeping you alive, so this one is more for fun than survivability.

Mandrake

The Mandrake is obtained via the Scarlet Coast.

If you don't have a death wish, then don't use this one. Unfortunately, it doesn't even prevent you from falling into deadly pits, which might be its one redeeming feature. If you truly don't trust your abilities, tag along with Scourge.

Yew

The Yew can be obtained from the Witch Mountain.

What the Yew basically does is that it grants you temporary shield through orbs, sometimes dropped by enemies.

It is a bit of a hustle to upgrade the Yew but let’s be honest every equipment in the Witchfire is. On Charismata 3, the Yew reduces reload time by 35% when the shield is active.

Moreover, collecting orbs grants a minor speed burst and knocks back nearby enemies, making the Yew quite a handy Fetish for combat.
