Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Guide | Virtues & Wizardry Build
Build smarter with virtues, spells, reinforcements, and blacksmith upgrades.

In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the process of crafting builds is simplified when done in the correct order. Select the qualities that are most appropriate for your play style, make an investment in the spells that you employ, get a starter set through reinforcements, and then have the blacksmith improve your gear.
Build Planning: Three Decisions
Choose your playstyle first, then focus your virtues around it. Next, choose the Wizardry Spells you like, because spell power scales with virtue level. Use weapon scaling as a hint, not a rule.

Virtues in Simple Terms
Wood is a fantastic pick for novices since it offers higher health points per point, spirit defense, and safe buffs such as life-leech alternatives. Wood also provides a higher health point total.
Whenever it is attacked, fire receives a spirit gain for its aggressive behavior. The Earth supports the defensive, patient style that focuses on deflecting and controlling opponents.
Debilitation, a reduction in the expense of magic spirit, and the implementation of poison and weakening effects are the primary foci of metal. When water is used, stealth is enhanced, the spirit cost of deflecting and avoiding is reduced, and Chill is applied to adversaries to slow them down.
Wizardry Spells: Decide Your Investment
As you go through the game, you will unlock spells; however, the potency of these spells is contingent on the virtue that corresponds to them. When Water is low, a significant investment in Fire can enable Firebolt to strike with a far greater force than Frost Lance.
When it comes to fast chill casting, the best option is to invest in Water. If the goal is to create large fire nukes like Blasting Flare, you should invest heavily in Fire.
Scaling varies even within one weapon type. The Cavalry Halberd can scale mainly with Water, while a Bronze Halberd can scale mainly with Earth, and other halberds can scale mainly with Fire. Scaling does not seem easy to change, even in New Game Plus, so keep more than one option.
Respec and Battle Sets
The availability of Cao Cao at the base occurs after the completion of the fifth primary mission. You can respec for free using the Reset Parameters tool. You can save alternative configurations as Battle Sets so that you can switch builds while you are in the middle of a task.
Reinforcements and Oath Level 10 Gear
Bringing a reinforcement grants a Warrior Effect bonus. With Zhao Yun, that can mean more spirit gain from deflecting and more Morale Rank Points gained. Reach oath level 10 to receive that follower's full set and weapon. A Cup of Cordiality boosts the familiarity gauge for faster progress.

Some iconic gear must be farmed. Lu Bu is not a follower, so pieces like Sky Piercing come from drops instead of oath rewards.
Tiger Seal Farm
Farm Tiger Seals in the Realm of Battle in Part 4. The mission is short and drops them consistently.

Blacksmith Upgrades and Embedment
Upgrading is a simple process. Copper must be paid, materials such as rated steel or leather must be utilized, and gear must be increased to +9.

In the process of embedding, your gear will become your build. It gives you the ability to add affixes such as element attack power, damage bonuses, spirit gain, and modifications to the rate at which you consume spirit.
It is common for blue gear to have two slots, with one of them locked, whereas purple gear often has three slots with one of them locked, and yellow gear can have four slots, with set bonuses adding additional value. When it comes to non-set gear, the first slot remains locked; set pieces can't be that locked.
Embeddings follow the categories. It is possible to reuse the general gray-dot effects. There is only one instance of each triangle and shield effect. It is possible to consume unique effects like Flame Enchant and Haste Upon Martial Arts, which means that they will vanish once they have been used.
Always salvage before selling so you keep ranked materials and stored embedments like Ammo Replenishment Upon Fatal Strike, Spirit Vulnerability Upon Enemy On Martial Arts, and Negative Attribute Damage Upon Guard.
