Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Releases Fall 2023

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 in the Fall of 2023. Insomniac's sequel will star Peter Parker and Miles Morales and see the two web heads teaming up to defend New York City from Spider-Man's extensive rogue gallery.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was first announced at PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a trailer featuring Peter and Miles taking on a group of thugs. At the end of the trailer the pair peer down a dark alley, lightning flashes, and a snarling, intimidating Venom is revealed. Venom's voice alone is enough to make your skin crawl. The trailer is (probably) narrated by Kraven the Hunter, so it is safe to assume that Venom and Kraven are the lead antagonists of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. If the end credit stinger of the first game is anything to go by, Venom's origins have been changed to add more emotional impact to Peter's fight. Don't rule out an appearance from the Green Goblin either as blueprints for the villain's iconic glider and pumpkin bombs can be found in Norman Osborn's office in Marvel's Spider-Man. 

 

The Fall 2023 announcement came courtesy of a PlayStation Blog post outlining some of the games and hardware set to be released by PlayStation in 2023. It included a statement from Insomniac Games Creative Director Bryan Intihar, who wrote:

"What a year it's been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we've been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022... and here's to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel's Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall."

Alongside Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Insomniac Games is also working on a Wolverine video game. Insomniac's version of Spider-Man also made a brief appearance in the latest trailer for the upcoming Sony Pictures Animation film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part 1.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releases in Fall 2023 for PlayStation 5.
